The Cognitive styles of children and young people on the autism spectrum

Training covers:

  • This training session explores the key differences in the way children and young people think (their cognitive styles). We discuss Theory of Mind and then focus on Central Coherence and Executive Functioning in more depth.
  • Further develop your understanding of successful strategies for supporting children and young people on the autism spectrum.
  • Reflect and share good practice.

  • Anyone with a sound understanding of autism who wishes to deepen their knowledge an examine in depth how children and young people with autism think
  • Upper Primary and secondary phase staff
  • Specialist staff/staff with responsibility for pupils with autism in their setting
